How to reach Sathyagalam?

Sathyagalam, in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, nestled in the dense jungles of Kollegal is at a distance of about 125 Kms from the capital, Bangalore.

Sathyagalam is well connected by rail, road and air.
Rail:
There are plenty of trains which run from Bangalore and Mysore and make stops at Maddur, from where the pilgrim can access the temple by a taxi or Bus.

Road:
Bus: It is just off the state highway that connects the state capital, Bangalore, with Kollegal, a Taluk   headquarters. Plenty of buses (both Government and private) service this route for those dependent on public transportation. The state owned, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses going to Kollegal, B R Hills, Yelandur, Chamrajnagar, make scheduled stops at Sathyagalam (referred to as Sathyagalam Hand Post bus stop). The Famous Kote Varadharajar Swamy Temple of Sathyagalam is about a half kilometerís walk from the bus stop. The bus driver/conductor, honoring special requests can drop you closer to the temple too.
Taxi: One can even avail of taxi services from Bangalore to get here.

Air:
The nearest airport is the Bangalore International airport which services domestic and international connections.
Local topography: The holy waters of the Cauvery provide a serene backdrop to the SATHYAGALAM shrine, which houses Sri Varadharajar and Perundevi Thayar along with Acharya Sri Desikar. Sathyagalam had the distinction of being selected as a perfect setting for Swami Desikanís daily Anushtanam, worship and writing. It is proximal to the Madhyarangam Temple, a popular pilgrimage destination which houses Lord Ranganatha and Ranganayaki Thayar at Shivanasamudhram falls (Srirangapattna is also known as Aadi Rangam, Srirangam as Anthima Rangam and Sivasamudram in Karnataka as Madhyarangam).Other tourist spots close by are Gaganchukki Falls, Bharichukki falls, Bluff, Tallakad etc.

(May we suggest you take your children on a picnic cum Cultural Heritage Tour. This way your children will learn about our heritage while having fun. With advance notice, the temple can arrange a paid lunch to complete the experience)
